Training with Matthys was different, in a good way. He helped me improve my physicality and become more comfortable playing through contact. He taught me how to use my body better when attacking the rim, rebounding, and defending.

I also liked how he had me shooting while tired, which helped me work on keeping my form and consistency even when I was fatigued. And it felt more personalized than what I was used to.

Matthys has helped me grow as a basketball player over the years. Before training with him, I wasn’t pushing myself enough or working on the right things in the gym. After just a few sessions, I saw firsthand what it takes to train at the university level, and it completely changed the way I approached the game.

His support goes beyond the workouts. He’s someone I can always text with questions, and he’s helped me stay focused on my academics, basketball, and becoming a better leader. With his guidance, I feel like I’m exactly where I want to be as I work toward playing university basketball.

I met Tate in the 10th grade, taking training very seriously. I immediately found training with Tate beneficial for my game all around. I learned the importance of having a high-level current basketball player analyze your game and give you feedback. Tate knows how to personally guide a player based on their strengths and weaknesses to have the highest chance of achieving their goals.

Tate does a really great job at addressing what you need to get better at and simplifying what you already do well. The sessions are always intense and make you feel like you’re actually improving. The work is usually a good mix of reactive work, reps and actually getting to compete with Tate. Competing against a high-level player like Tate, it’s simple to become better offensively and defensively. Tate does a great job at paying attention to detail and brings great energy and guidance consistently.
